    Hello

I saw a news in your "New and Info" section Dt 17-Jan-2014 talking about the Mumbai Mint sale counter. I want to buy few sets from them. I am from Faridabad (Haryana). Please tell me how can I buy them. Do they sell online or is there any another way. I do not have any friend from Mumbai.

    Regards

One can only buy in person. Read the post http://coinsofrepublicindia.blogspot.in/2013/03/booking-coins-from-mint.html point 4 FAQ

    Hello,

I ordered 3 different themes' coins (online in a single order) from Kolkata mint on 17th May 2013,
    1. Swami Vivekanand (150/- & 5/-)
    2. 60 Years of Kolkata Mint (60/- & 5/-)
    3. Sant Tukaram (100/-, 50/-, 10/- & 2/-)
But till date, I haven't received any of them. I mailed the mint twice regarding this & trying to call the numbers available on their site, but no reply.
If any one of you have any sort of info about this, then please let me know.

    Thanks & Regards,

To my knowledge the dispatch of both the sets "Swami Vivekanand (150/- & 5/-)" and "60 Years of Kolkata Mint (60/- & 5/-)" was completed quite some time back. The best suggestion I can offer is write to Mint using speed post giving the details of your bookings.

The "Sant Tukaram" is still being shipped and there are quite a few who are yet to get this set.

Thanks a lot for the reply..
I just want to ask, do the mints (specially Kolkata) send a complete order in parts (multiple consignments) or they wait for all sets to get ready? Because, as I mentioned earlier, I placed a single order for all these 3 themes.

In general true for Hyderabad Mint dispatch. In general NOT true for Kolkata Mint. Especially in the recent booking, 5 sets were available. However 3 restrikes were disputed in court. Hence the mint began dispatching the Vivekanand and 60 years quite sometime back. Quite a few collectors have got individual sets even when booked everything. I don't know anyone others who hasn't go these 2 sets.

    Hi!
You have mentioned about the possible release of J N Tata 175 years coin set in March 14....
    Has it been released?

Is there a way to subscribe for notifications from the mint(s) about the bookings for coins - or do we only wait for advertisements & / or check on the website frequently?

I tend to miss out on these announcements in the newspapers as I usually skip all the advertisements on general

JRD Not yet. No Subscription. Read http://coinsofrepublicindia.blogspot.in/2013/03/booking-coins-from-mint.html

By Virtue, I have purchased the Birdeshwar temple in 2010 with craze to have the 1000 coin in my worth.

After that have grown interest to buy more coins seeing the demand and monetary growth, but when ever i logged in there were no sale offer.

But going Have spent long time on the blog, understanding the coins and currency collection in India.

A article on new starters will be highly appreciated, and I require a mentor to guide me.

Rakesh as you can see, the coins are not yet open for booking. It should be available for bookings from mint in few months. Keep watching this space to know when the bookings would be open. The article on Booking coins from mint should help if you are first timer.

I have not received coir board coins as yet. What I should do.
  19. AdminNovember 17, 2014 at 10:52 PM
As you can see in the News, its just started on 24-Sept. Typically it takes anywhere between 2-4 months to complete the order, i.e. generally around 100 sets a day are struck and dispatched. The Mint is also sending out a mail with dispatch details. So wait for few more weeks it should reach you.

Is it wise to buy re strikes of sant tukaram, Rabindranath Tagore, lal bahadur shastri and dr. Syama prasad mookerjee for investment purposes. Tagore proof set is available cheaper on eBay from a Gud seller than current booking rate. So please advise.
  21. AdminDecember 1, 2014 at 10:32 PM
From "investment purposes" ... well its like predicting should I buy Tata and Reliance shares ...

The prices are determined by Demand and Supply and the volumes are low, so 3 years back every set was high and prices are now down by more than 30%. The Shastri set is cheaper outside than from Mint. Similar for Tagore or other sets like Mother Teresa. Sant Tukaram, Dr. Syama prasad mookerjee may still be worth it ...
I can't predict what will happen in future ...

I didnt get 2sets of coir board coins till now what should I do..

  23. AdminDecember 31, 2014 at 9:11 AM
When did you book the coins? Was it online or via DD? Mumbai Mint has stared sending out email once the coins are dispatched.
Best write to mint and hope your coins arrive soon. It is painful to chase mints typically they are non-responsive.
